Bio

I'm a West Virginian. I've always been surrounded by music. Country hits like "Bigger Fish To Fry" and "I'll Be True To His Word" on the radio showed me early on what great music was all about. My family saw my gravitational pull toward music before I did. Whether it was humming melodies as a newborn or clapping on the beat at an Alabama concert, they took it as a sign that I would love music. My dad's Lowrey organ in the living room was what I first started using to figure out melodies to Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins songs. Video games and movies shaped my listening palette tremendously. The unmatchable playlists of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, Sonic 3D Blast, Bloody Roar 2 and Tekken 3 made me love music, and John Williams' outstanding orchestrations in films like Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and Harry Potter inspired me to learn as many instruments as possible.

It all started with a trombone. Then came lessons. Then came piano lessons. My amazing band teacher would let me take instruments home on the weekends and "learn my way around them." Baritone, then tuba, trumpet. I'll always love brass instruments. Then came guitar, then bass. Jim, my out-of-this-world trombone teacher, tried to slow me down and focus hard on trombone. It paid off for sure. Allowed me to travel West Virginia and surround myself with a tremendous amount of hard working and talented peers throughout high school. I earned scholarships to Marshall University (Go Herd!) and I began studying music.

I wanted to make my own music, but wasn't sure how. I went through many transformations as a solo artist throughout 2011-2013..loads of instrumentals, some lost forever. Started performing with Colten Settle Band in Fall of 2013. Co-Founded The Settlement in 2014 where I spent 7 incredible years growing as a musician alongside such strong friends. In my latest release, "Get It Right", I'm proud to have the opportunity to share a view into who I am at heart.
